There are few places in the world that have worse PR than Mexico. Especially lately, we’re bombarded with news stories of violence and hateful political rhetoric. And it’s a huge shame.
Spending a week there showed me how beautiful a place it really is, and how warm it’s people are. And no, I’m not just talking about Cancun and Acapulco. I wasn’t there to do a destination wedding, this time. I actually ventured away from it’s tropical shores, inland to Mexico City and San Miguel. And it was pure joy.
Safety, shmafty. Sure, there are some neighbourhoods you’d want to avoid, but I would say the same of Chicago or LA, or Toronto for that matter.
Guys, it’s awesome. Seriously, you should go.
And eat lots of tacos.
Visually, it’s full of colour, rich textures, great patterns and TONS of flowers. That’s what my camera was drawn to.
So many of the walls are covered in beautiful vines.
Even the roofs have a punch of colour!
‘Cause why not have a cactus growing out of a pink wall?
And why have a pot full of water when you could line that pot with floating roses?
Not sure what this is, but I like it.
San Miguel at sunset. What a place.
