Last week I was able to go to sunny (and HOT) Barbados for a bit of work and a lot of R&R.  Seriously though, it was unbelievably hot. . .my Canadian temperament didn’t handle it too well.

When I wasn’t cooling myself off in the ocean, I got to snap a few shots of some of the very colourful local sights. Most of these images were taken on a day trip to Bridgetown, a vibrant and bustling city. And some were taken along the beautiful shoreline.

I have to admit, street photography terrifies me, so I’ve made it a personal challenge to do as much of it as I can. I’ve been walking around my home town Toronto with my camera quite a bit, but being in a new setting with lots of visual stimulation is always really exciting.

I definitely had a few people yell at me, most significantly a vendor at a spice stand (I was trying to take pictures of the spices, not her) but I managed not to get my camera smashed, and am very happy with the end results.

Vendor lady aside, Barbados is filled with genuinely kind and friendly people, not to mention the gorgeous beaches, good food, and natural wonders. Hope to be back one day!
