Muskoka Meets Scotland at Jon and Shannon’s Beautiful Fall Wedding

Filed in: Uncategorized

When they were just teenagers, Shannon met UK transplant Jon at camp in Muskoka. So what better place to have their wedding!

It was a cold and windy, but beautiful fall weekend at Port Cunnington Lodge on Lake of Bays. The couple and all their guests had the entire resort to themselves, so this three day party was an epic one!

I was fortunate enough the be wrapped up in my jacket and scarf the whole time, so I really gotta give it to the entire wedding party for toughing it out in their dresses (and kilts), especially during the gorgeous dock ceremony. You guys are troupers!

I’m not sure the couple could be much better suited for one another, or much more adorable than they already are. My favourite part of the whole day was during Jon’s speech when he pointed to Shannon and said, “I wanna be just like this girl.” Love all around.

Sensible but fabulous shoes for the wilderness.

No wedding up north would be complete without red cups.

The guys were getting ready across the resort, and were verrrry relaxed when I got there. The needed a little jolt to get ready on time!

Kilts aren’t the easiest things to get on.

What a wonderful place for a first look.

It was one of those moments where even I got a bit choked up behind the camera.

The wind was whipping around that dock. HUGE kudos to the entire bridal party for toughing it out.

I didn’t realize the guys were going as “true Scotsmen” when I asked them to sit down on the dock, but it all worked out.

Finally, we got to go into the warm indoors for the reception.

Each centrepiece had a picture of each of them from a certain age. Such a great idea!

It took a few tries, but we got this shot!
